Terms and Conditions

Your contract is with The Mountain Bike Chalet Co, (hereafter TMBCC).

A deposit of 60 Euros per person, is required if you book more than 8 weeks prior to departure. A booking exists once a confirmation/invoice is dispatched, detailing what you have booked. Please check it carefully, as items not on your confirmation will not be supplied. Once confirmation is dispatched your contract is made with TMBCC and the deposit is not refundable.
Deposits may be claimable on your insurance, subject to terms.

Final payment is due 8 weeks prior to the departure date. If the balance is not paid in time we reserve the right to cancel your holiday, retain the deposit and recoup any additional charges.

Complaints must be made to our resort representatives as soon as possible and in any case within 24 hours so that we may have the opportunity to rectify the situation. If the problem cannot be rectified, you must submit your complaint in writing to our office within 28 days of your return. If claims are made after 28 days they are likely to affect the consumer’s rights under the conditions. It is unlikely that you will have a complaint that cannot be settled amicably between us.

In the unlikely event that we need to make any substantial changes to, or cancel your holiday, a full refund or exchange will be offered. However we do reserve the right to make these changes if appropriate. If you accept a refund we will be under no further liability outside the holiday costs.

If you want to cancel your holiday, the lead name on the booking must tell us in writing immediately by post or email. Verbal cancellations will not be accepted. If you cancel, you will be liable to pay the cancellation charges set out below.

Number of weeks

Cancellation charge as a % of final invoice total

More than 8 weeks – Loss of deposit

4 to 8 weeks – 50% of holiday cost or deposit if greater

2 to 4 weeks – 80% of holiday cost

Less than 2 weeks – No refund

We do not accept responsibility if you suffer injury, illness or death, unless it is due to the negligence of our employees, acting in the course of their employment, and the incident is reported to us in resort. No claims will be accepted after the end of the holiday. We also do not accept any responsibility for injury, illness or death caused by your own actions or omissions, or by any unforeseeable or unavoidable event.

In the event that you suffer injury or illness whilst on holiday, unconnected with arrangements made by us, we will offer help, guidance and any assistance that we can, provided that you tell us about your illness or injury whilst you are in resort. You should ensure you are fully insured by your travel insurance for all aspects of your trip. This should include both the travel elements, and any possible mountain rescue service you may require. You should ensure this cover is adequate for the type of lift assisted riding that you plan to do, which could include unguided backcountry riding. You must make a claim under your insurance policy’s legal section, and must show us proof that your insurance company has received your claim, should we ask for it.

Information about Les Arcs and its services contained in our web site, is accurate to the best of our knowledge. We will not be held responsible for any changes to such services, as they are out of our control. You are responsible at all times for all your personal belongings, documents and equipment (including hired). Due to the nature of chalet holidays, we cannot always guarantee that bedroom doors will be lockable.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you do not ride beyond your capability, either with or without a guide.

No refunds are given for unused portions of the holiday such as empty accommodation or uneaten meals.

All dietary requirements need to be indicated at the time of booking. All meals are cooked from scratch in the chalet and we shop only once a week. If we have not had prior notice it may not be possible to cater for dietary requirements for the first few days of the holiday.

TMBCC reserves the right to terminate, without compensation, your holiday if it is deemed that your behaviour is unsociable, abusive or in any way unacceptable, to ourselves or any other guest.

We will endeavour to have your room ready by 3pm on the day of your arrival. Your room must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure, regardless of the time of transfer. We will however provide space for the storage of baggage, should you either arrive before 3pm, or wish to leave after 10am.

TMBCC does not provide bike rental. Any prices and descriptions of bike rental services relate to Arc MTB. Arc MTB is independently owned and operated from TMBCC and if you choose to use their services, you enter into a contract with Arc MTB and are bound by their terms and conditions. TMBCC cannot be held responsible for the services provided by Arc MTB.

All airport transfers are to and from Geneva airport on Saturdays only. Typically we will aim to be at Geneva for 10am for departing guests and leave again at 4pm with the following weeks guests. Where practical, i.e. for larger groups, these times can be modified to suit. If your flight times cannot be accommodated we reserve the right to reimburse the value of your transfer from your holiday cost and ask you to make your own way to resort. In ALL cases please check with us before booking your flights.

Whilst we will do everything within our power to ensure that we meet your flights on time we cannot be held in any way responsible for events that are out of our control, e.g. traffic jams, vehicle breakdowns etc, should they result in missed flights. It is your responsibility to ensure that your travel insurance covers events of this nature.

Guests use our transfers, shuttles and trailers at their own risk.
