The Riding

Les Arcs’ reputation as a world class mountain bike destination cannot be denied.  Featured in Dirt Magazine’s 2009 and 2010 articles, this resort incorporates something for all riders, from a world class downhill course to northshore trails and from slopestyle parks to massive backcountry.

We know, however, that for you it’s the awesome singletrack descents that will bring you to Les Arcs and our experienced guides will take away the guesswork and show you the best the mountain has to offer. With the highest lift accessible start point at 2700 metres and the valley floor  2000 vertical metres below there are literally hundreds of kilometres of trails to throw yourself down, from jaw-dropping open tracks of the high mountain down into the forest for some seriously technical adventure.

Dedicated minibus uplifts mean that you’re not limited to riding when the lifts are running and you don’t have to stick to the trails that are marked. This makes Les Arcs accessible for longer and opens up her epic backcountry terrain.

Our small group sizes (6 maximum) mean that we can tailor our guiding to your riding, whether you want an adrenalin-charged challenge or a more leisurely appreciation of the stunning trails and breathtaking views of the Tarentaise valley.

Extras
As well as having some of the best terrain in the world on our doorstep we also have some other fantastic resorts within an hour drive of the chalet. We can take you to these resorts during the week to experience something new and different, providing there is a minimum number interested.

  • La Thuile – Downhill, freeride and singletrack. Typically dusty, steep and flowing. Great fun on any bike although some suspension is advised as it can get a bit hairy in places
  • Tignes – Freeride and Downhill and smooth flowing trails with some large man-made features such as wall rides, step downs, creek gaps and the infamous step up. (none are compulsory)
  • Val D’Isere – Downhill and freeride. Home to one of this years French National Championship rounds.
  • Pila (2 and half hour drive) – Downhill. Ex world cup track and seriously steep prolonged descents. Fully recommended for those that really want to go fast and get loose. Downhill bike recommended.
  • Local up lifts in the area featuring some of the best descents you might ever ride!
