Chalet Algonquin is home to The Mountain Bike Chalet Co. Our beautiful 18th Century farmhouse boasts six large en suite bedrooms sleeping 17 in total. We have dedicated secure bike storage, a workshop and bike cleaning facilities.

New Quad Bedroom

Algonquin is based within the lift systems of Les Arcs and La Plagne, so during the main season all of your riding is lift accessible, you only need pedal for a couple of minutes in the morning to get to the Lobster Pots in Peisey.

The top floor has a huge living and dining area with stunning panoramic views of the wooded valley on the far side of the charming village of Moulin.

Moulin is located about fifteen minutes away from Bourg St Maurice in the Tarentaise Valley. We are based slap bang in between Les Arcs and La Plagne in the French Alps and are perfectly positioned to explore some of the best mountain bike terrain available in Europe.

Your hosts Sarah and Bryony will prepare your meals for you and look after all aspects of your stay in the chalet, whilst Mansell and Lucy will look after all of your biking needs, from maintenance tips and repairs to daily guiding on the mountain.

Work Shop, Tools and Washing

At The Mountain Bike Chalet, we know that no matter how prepared you are with your bike set up and maintenance before you come out, things can go wrong. That’s why we have a dedicated mountain bike workshop with a large range of bike specific tools available to you throughout your stay with us. We also realise that not everybody has the knowledge to fix their bike if things go wrong, that’s why we have cycle mechanics available in the evenings to ensure that your bikes are ready for the following days riding. Not only will we help you fix your bike, but teach you how to look after and maintain your bike so that it runs smoothly and works well for you.

In addition to our in-house repair shop there are professional bike shops in the area which stock a range of parts, spares, clothes and protection as well as mechanics which can deal with more in depth repairs. We do stock a range of spare parts for rental to make sure that you can keep riding your bike for the entirety of your holiday. These can be hired from the chalet on a daily or weekly basis. We also have a rental bike service which can be delivered directly to the chalet.
At the start of every weeks riding we will take a small amount of time out at the chalet or on the hill to ensure that everybody’s bikes are set up to deal with the alpine terrain better so that you can ride more safely and with confidence in your bike. We will cover:

Suspension set up
Saddle and bar heights
Cockpit set up
Tyre pressure

There is a bike washing station available at the chalet along with brushes and work stands to make sure that your bikes are ready for the following day’s adventure.
